INFO
Colin Sales is fast becoming the 1st man of Scotland. Not content to DJ along side the industries big guns when they are north of the border, he’s been cranking up the frequencies in the studio too, along with multiple remixes, the hot Scot has poured his soul into an EP, a wicked blend of smart, funny, intelligent and cheeky!
Beginning with the most soulful of the bunch, ‘You’ combines classic beats with a gentle rhodes sound, some keys licks and a lil’ brass thrown in, definitely a good one for the beach or the bar. Check out the Deep Dub mix for some serious darkroom deepness!! ‘November’ combines the soulful rhodes sound with some ‘banging’ beats n bass. ‘Whisky Jam’ was done all in one session (by session we mean during a bottle of Scotland’s finest – hence the title!), and this is surely the deepest of the tracks with a little synth and minimal beats, plus some haunting background organ sounds for good measure. Finally, the most talked about track, ‘Don’t Laugh’, is a quirky trip though tech-land (or should that be la-la-land!), is it good, bad, or just plain weird? You decide! Check out the Asylum Version for even heavier, distorted, f**ked up, beatz!!
So all in all, easily the strongest EP from the Scotsman so far, with early feedback being very positive. Looks like this could be his biggest one yet...

Colin Sales displays the full range of his talents with a diverse EP that has something to suit most tastes. All the tracks are well produced with the rhodes driven “You” being my personal pick. “Whisky Jam” is punctuated by some deep synths and inspired apparently by Colin’s favourite tipple. “November” combines some soothing rhodes with techier synths and impressive rhythms that’ll have them scurrying to the floor while “Don’t Laugh” is a minimal number underpinned by tribal beats with a spooky whooping effect that should also cause quite a stir on the floor.
REVIEW BY MICHAEL FOSSATI - spiritofhouse.com
"Colin Sales presents a multi-faceted release with "The Global Groove EP" including the laidback "You" which combines a smooth backdrop with gentle rhodes and great jazzy horns. The 'Deep Dub' darkens the vibe to give the track a deep hypnotic sounding. "Don't laugh" is an edgy tech-house track, taken to the big rooms on the 'Asylum Mix'. "November" is a somewhat tougher deep house track featuring lush melodies over a chunky groove, while "Whisky jam" is synth driven deep house on a thumpin' tip.
Hope you like!!
Best,
C.
